Steve Edwards
Rooster Ag’ Farm Management
Steve Edwards was born and raised on his family’s farm in Maple Park, IL where he lived and worked until he graduated from Kaneland High School. Steve then attended Kishwaukee College and received an Associate’s Degree in Farm Management and Diesel Mechanics. After graduating he began working with his Uncle Walt Johnson on his family farm in DeKalb, IL. Steve worked for him until he began farming on his own in Elburn, IL and in 2010 retired from farming.
Steve had met Joe Ludwig earlier in his farming career, Joe was Steve’s salesman from Hintzsche Fertilizer for the farm and a close family friend. In the spring of 1996, Steve began his career with Hintzsche Fertilizer and continued to work there for a 22-year career in the Ag Retail business. Six of those years he worked side by side with Joe Ludwig.
Steve was approached in the Spring of 2018 by Joe to work with Rooster Ag’ and head up the Farm Management Division and as an Independent Real Estate Broker, which started a new chapter in his life. Steve looks forward to assisting each of you by utilizing his years of knowledge from first-hand Ag experiences to fulfill your Farm Management and Real Estate needs.
